Indonesia consumed a total of 1.106 million tons of gasoline in early H2, a sharp decline of 21.4% in September and the lowest year-to-date amount, descriptive statistics showed this week from Indonesia.
While the decline commonly expected by stakeholders in the Asian gasoline industry, which linked high inventory rates to the decrease in July imports figures, Pertamina stated that this happens after several months of substantial procurement.
In the H1 2019, Indonesia acquired 3,504 million tons of petrol and 4,09 million tons in the Q2. The quantities were significantly higher than Q1 last year at 3 million tons and its Q2 at 3,494 million tons.
Besides, the gasoline economy mixing was more profitable in July, mostly thanks to dropping rates of blendstocks such as naphtha, said one of the market sources. Furthermore, according to industry reports, Indonesia's Trans Pacific Petrochemical Indotama refinery in Tuban had switched its priority to gasoline manufacturing, but this could not be immediately verified with the refinery.
According to figures from Statistics Indonesia, the country's transported 77,784 tons of 88 RON gasoline altogether in July, Indonesia.
