AlwaysFree: Come-by-Chance Refinery to be Renamed

Author: SSESSMENTS

On Tuesday, private equity firm Cresta Fund Management announced the renaming of the Canadian Come-by-Chance refinery after the acquisition process is complete.

The refinery is named Braya Renewable Fuels now and in the first phase, it will be changed to a facility producing 14,000 bpd of sustainable aviation fuel and renewable diesel by about mid-2022.

The second phase will double the capacity of the refinery and incorporate the ability to produce green hydrogen, fueled by renewables.

The 135,000 bpd refinery has been idled for more than a year. It is owned by North Atlantic Refining Ltd (NARL) after the acquisition was first announced in July. Silverpeak, who held the controlling interest previously, will retain a minority interest in the plant but will continue to control NARL Marketing.
