According to the company’s website news release on February 14, 2023, for the past couple of months, Maersk has experienced increased delays at the port of Zanzibar. Due to these unforeseen delays, it became increasingly difficult to maintain the service schedules and deliver on the customer promise. To restore service reliability, the unfortunate decision had to be made to temporarily close booking acceptance till the end of March. Depending on the operational environment, this will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
For all remaining cargo in terminals or on water, delivery will continue to take place as per the latest updated ETA.
