AlwaysFree: Trans Mountain Uncertain on Pipeline-Restarting Time

Author: SSESSMENTS

Canada’s Trans Mountain is still uncertain on the timeline for its key oil pipeline restarting due to bad weather.

On Monday, the company said that it was still days away from restarting the key oil pipeline at a reduced capacity as heavy rains continue to impede restoration efforts.

Previously on Friday, Trans Mountain had said it was working toward restarting the oil pipeline at a reduced capacity this week.

However, on Sunday, work was interrupted at some sites due to high water accumulation or lack of access. In parts of British Columbia, heavy rains and flooding caused widespread disruption which forced the 300,000 bpd crude and refined product shipments via the pipeline from Alberta to the Pacific Coast to shut down.

Trans Mountain is currently assessing the impacts from the latest storm with a focus on the Coldwater and Coquihalla regions.
