A trader in Indonesia contacted by SSESSMENTS reported on the latest import PVC offers from China. According to the trader, import offers from one of the largest acetylene-based PVC producers in China are up by $50/ton to Indonesia supported by the stronger demand and orders from buyers in China after market activities resumed from the major holiday. The producer, however, informed on stable offers compared to last week.
The offer level is deemed too high by the trader compared to the stable offers from the leading Taiwanese PVC producer for March shipment to all markets. Therefore, the trader prefers to stand on the sidelines and wait for any downward adjustment in the upcoming week. The trader added that other PVC producers in Southeast Asia would follow the leading Taiwanese PVC producer’s step to maintain stable offers for March shipment considering the weak demand within the region.
