At the beginning of this week, market sources in China reported mostly stable prices when it comes to acetylene-based PVC. Some sellers, however, decided to increase their offers by CNY100/ton ($15/ton), which is still considered not huge. Current offers stand between CNY6,800-6,950/ton ($1,005-1,027/ton) with deals are concluded mostly below CNY6,900/ton ($1,019/ton). All domestic transaction is on cash, EXW basis and including 16% VAT.
Some who did increase their offers did it on the back of tight supply due to strict environmental inspection and hot weather which caused both upstream and downstream factories to lower their operating rates. Meanwhile, from the export market, producers still don’t have the intention to focus on exporting materials, and not many done deals can be concluded. Current offers for export materials stand between $900-920/ton, on LC at sight, FOB China basis.
