On Monday, India’s biggest port operator Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone said that effective on November 15, it would not handle containers activities from Iran, Pakistan, and Afghanistan.
All ports handled by the company, including third-party terminals at any port will apply the new decision until further notice.
Adani Group did not disclose the reason behind the decision, but it came just weeks after the seizing of almost three tonnes of heroin originating from Afghanistan from two containers at western Gujarat's Mundra Port, run by Adani Ports.
