Packaging maker Amcor on Wednesday announced it had joined the US Plastics Pact, an initiative led by The Recycling Partnership, Ellen MacArthur Foundation, and World Wildlife Fund (WWF), to advance the circular economy for plastics in the US. The collaboration convenes more than 60 participants, including brand owners, NGOs, and government agencies.
The US Plastics Pact has four ambitious goals by 2025, including using 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable plastics in all packaging; recycling or composting 50% of plastic packaging; using at least 30% recycled content or bio-based content in plastic packaging; and eliminating problematic or unnecessary packaging.
