Bahrain LNG announced that it had finished the mechanical construction and commissioning of the Middle East’s first liquefied natural gas (LNG) receiving and regasification terminal developed on a PPP basis.
The terminal includes a Floating Storage Unit (FSU), an offshore LNG receiving jetty and breakwater, an adjacent regasification platform, subsea gas pipelines from the platform to shore, an onshore gas receiving facility, and an onshore nitrogen production facility.
The project holds a strategic regasification services position in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s energy sector.
