AlwaysFree: BASF, LyondellBasell Raise Prices Of Some Chemicals In North America

German chemical maker BASF has sent notifications to its customers about new prices of its chemicals. On August 26, BASF announced that it would raise the index and non-index prices of its Styrofan ® product line by $0.08 per 1,000 pounds in North America, effective September 25, 2021, or as permitted by the contract.

On August 31, the company said the price of its Lupranate MDI products would be raised by $0.12/lb from October 1, 2021, or as permitted by the contract. It also announced that starting from September 1, 2021, the price of its acrylic dispersions will increase by $0.15/lb; the price of styrene-acrylic dispersions will increase by $0.20/lb, and the price of styrene-acrylic resins will increase by $0.15/lb.

On September 1, BASF said that the price of its dimethylaminopropylamine (DMAPA) would increase by $0.15/lb in North America starting from October 1, or as permitted by existing contracts. On September 3, the company said it would increase the price of its polyether amines sold under the Baxxodur ® brand in North America from October 1, 2021, or as permitted by existing contracts.

Meanwhile, LyondellBasell notified its North American customers that it would raise prices of its polypropylene (PP) by $0.11/lb in October, which will come in addition to the previously announced September price increase.
