AlwaysFree: BASF, Quantafuel, REMONDIS Sign MoU On Plastic Chemical Recycling

Author: SSESSMENTS

BASF, Quantafuel, and REMONDIS have signed an MoU to cooperate in a chemical recycling project that includes joint investments in a chemical recycling plant. Under the MoU, REMONDIS will supply suitable plastic waste to the plant. Quantafuel will operate the plant using its technology to convert plastic waste into pyrolysis oil. BASF will then use the pyrolysis oil as a feedstock to produce its ChemCyclingTM products in its Verbund site. The use of pyrolysis oil will help BASF reduce its consumption of fossil-based feedstocks. BASF aims to use the recycled materials to make products with comparable properties with products made from fossil feedstock.
