According to Interfax News Agency article published on December 30, 2022, Belarus plans to increase exports to Russia by $1.5 billion in 2023, Belarusian Economy Minister Alexander Chervyakov said.
"In terms of foreign trade, there are plans to boost supplies to the Russian Federationby $1.5 billion and to China by a quarter more than this year. We're also not about to leave the market of the EU countries," Chervyakov said in a commentary published on the Economy Ministry's website.
Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said earlier that exports to Russia are expected at $22 billion to $23 billion in 2022 compared to $16.4 billion in 2021, which corresponds to growth of $5.6 billion to $6.6 billion, or 34%-40%.
A minimum slowdown of 75% in the rates of export growth to Russia is thus expected next year relative to the growth this year.
The Belarusian authorities also said earlier that no less than twofold growth is expected in exports from Belarus to China in 2022.
Belarus this year has "pulled off an export maneuver: we replaced 85% of lost supplies in the western direction with other markets," Chervyakov said.
There are plans to increase exports 5.5% to $48 billion in 2023 in line with the target forecast for Belarus's socioeconomic development.
