Borealis said on Wednesday that it had agreed to purchase the entire green electricity output generated by Axpo’s two wind farms in Belgium. The power purchase agreement (PPA) covers a supply of up to 100,000 MWh of wind power every year over the next nine years, starting January 2022. The purchase is part of Borealis’ plan to meet the entire energy requirement of its Belgian operations from renewable sources. The PPA is also expected to cut the CO2 emissions at Borealis’ Belgian operations by around 20,000 tons/year.
