For the production of renewable polypropylene (PP), Borealis AG and Neste Corp. are entering into a strategic cooperation. Neste’s 100% renewable propane will be used by Borealis. The renewable propane produced will be feedstock at its facilities in Beringen and Kallo (Belgium).
To be used in the production of polymers and chemicals, Neste offers bio-based alternatives offered by Neste to the conventional fossil-based feedstock. Renewable products with an annual production capacity of 3 million tons owned by Neste.
To create an entire portfolio of applications based on renewable-PP, Borealis will use Neste’s renewable propane, produced in Rotterdam, at its facilities in Belgium. This is the first for Borealis to use bio-based feedstock.
