AlwaysFree: Braskem Takes Part in PP Recycling Coalition

Author: SSESSMENTS

Brazilian polyolefins major Braskem takes part in the Polypropylene Recycling Coalition (PRC).

The coalition is an initiative from the Recycling Partnership, aiming for industry collaboration to better the US PP recycling infrastructure.

Braskem’s participation will focus on spurring recycling access for PP, ensuring the material is widely recovered and reused in the end-markets such as packagings for food and beverage, consumer products, and automotive parts.

Geoffrey Inch, Braskem’s North America sustainability director stated that the company will bring technical expertise and market knowledge to enhance the US recycling infrastructure improvements for recovering PP.

PRC aims to achieve the same level of recycling for PP compared with other plastics like PET and HDPE.
