Sources said that last week, Canadian pipeline operator TC Energy Corp. declared force majeure after its 590,000 bpd Keystone oil pipeline spilled 9,000 barrels of oil in North Dakota, prompting a US regulator to order that sector to be remain shut until the company restarts.
The company could not fulfill 30% of its normal November shipments from the pipeline, and the line from Alberta to US Midwest refineries to be shut for around 10 days.
