China National Offshore Oil Corp. (CNOOC) Group plans to add six LNG storage tanks at its Binhai terminal in Jiangsu, China.
The six tanks will have a storage capacity of 270,000 cu m each to make a total additional capacity of 1.62 million cu m. The construction is targeted to complete in 2023.
The government of Henan, central China, will invest in two of the tanks while CNOOC will operate them, to fulfill gas demand from both Henan and Jiangsu.
The terminal’s first phase is set to accept 3 million tpa of LNG, and to have four storage tanks of 220,000 cu m each. The operation is targeted to commence in 2021.
