On Wednesday, the Indonesian Coal Mining Association (APBI) said that a trade deal involving USD1.467 billion worth of Indonesia’s thermal coal is signed with China for 2021.
APBI added that Indonesia hoped for a rise in coal exports to China by 200 million tonnes in the coming year, and the target quantity will be reviewed every year.
According to Refinitiv data, in the first ten months of 2020, China’s thermal coal imports from Indonesia slumped by 24.5% year-on-year to 86.88 million tonnes.
