AlwaysFree: China Targets $15 Billion Hydrogen Industry Chain by 2025

Author: SSESSMENTS

China has targeted to construct a complete hydrogen industry chain worth more than CNY100 billion (USD15 billion) in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region by 2025.

The target would translate to a two-fold increase in the value of the industry chain in two years, from CNY50 billion (USD457 million) by 2023 under the Beijing Hydrogen Industry Development Implementation Plan (2021-2025).

Before 2025, the country is set to have a fairly mature hydrogen sector with 10-15 globally competitive industry leaders.

For the capital Beijing, the proposal is in line with its goal to form major steps in hydrogen technology innovation. By 2023, the city targets to possess 37 hydrogen fueling stations and 3,000 automobiles powered by hydrogen fuel cells. By 2025, the same number of filling stations will be created and the number of hydrogen-powered vehicles will approach 10,000.

Beijing’s daily hydrogen output is set to be at 68.8 tonnes before 2022. The daily consumption of hydrogen used by automobiles in the city is forecast to hit around 50 tonnes by 2023 while by 2025 it would more than double to 135 tonnes.
