AlwaysFree: Coronavirus Lockdown Extended In Pakistan

Author: SSESSMENTS

A two-week extension announced by Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday to the nationwide shutdown to curb the COVID-19 spread.

Some industries, however, would reopen in phases. Khan said construction would be the first industry to reopen.

Pakistan is expected to fall into recession in fiscal 2020/2021, the World Bank warned. To fight the pandemic, Prime Minister has sought debt relief from international lenders.

A three-week lockdown has been completed by Pakistan. The country has reported 5,716 coronavirus cases with 96 deaths.
