Author: SSESSMENTS

US-based Dow announced the expansion of its investments in circular plastics initiative which is planned to start in 2022.

With Fuenix Ecogy Group, Dow will expand its initial agreement with the establishment of a second plant in Weert, the Netherlands, which will process 20,000 tonnes of waste plastic into pyrolysis oil feedstock.

With Gunvor Petroleum Rotterdam, Dow has finalized the agreement of racker-ready feedstock supply starting in 2021.

With New Hope Energy, Dow will receive the supply of pyrolysis oil feedstocks derived from plastics recycled in North America, which Dow will use to produce circular plastics.

With Mura Technology, Dow will assist in the rapid scaling of the new HydroPRS (Hydrothermal Plastic Recycling Solution) advanced recycling process which will provide Dow with additional recycled feedstocks. The 20,000 tpa line will start operational in 2023.

Dow is fast-tracking the design, engineering, and construction of a market development scale purification unit in Terneuzen, the Netherlands, to provide additional capacity to purify pyrolysis oil feedstock derived from plastic waste.

The company has either received or is on track to receive International Sustainability & Carbon Certification (ISCC) for each of its major European and US sites.
