US Chemical maker Dow and Chinese waste management company Xiamen Luhai Pro-environment have entered into a partnership to advance plastic circularity in China. Under the collaboration, Dow will create new circular plastic solutions with post-consumer plastic provided by Luhai. Luhai is a company which focuses on recycling post-consumer cartons and plastics from the waste collected in China.
This partnership is part of Dow’s “Stop the Waste” sustainability goal, aiming to collect, reuse, or recycle 1 million tons of plastic by 2030. Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics’ Asia Pacific VP Bambang Candra said that the company is aggressively tackling the plastic waste issue through partnerships to create new applications and add value to post-consumer plastic.
