According to the company’s website press release on February 7, 2023, Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), Quezon Power (Philippines), Limited Co. (QPL), and Doosan Enerbility Co., Ltd have entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to study the feasibility of ammonia co-fired power generation at EGCO Group’s Quezon power plant in the Philippines to help reduce carbon dioxide emissions.
The MOU will support EGCO Group’s strategic plan to reduce its carbon dioxide emission intensity by 10% by 2030.
EGCO Group’s “Cleaner, Smarter and Stronger to Drive Sustainable Growth” business direction aims to promote sustainable growth over the long term for its businesses in the region—including QPL—with the ultimate goal of achieving carbon neutrality by 2050.
