Egyptian Ethylene & Derivatives Co. (Ethydco) granted Italy’s Saipem and Egypt’s Petrojet an engineering contract for the country’s first polybutadiene rubber production facility in Alexandria.
The consortium will provide detailed engineering design, procurement and supply of equipment and materials, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning up to start-up, and performance testing of the planned 36,000 mtpa plant.
The plant will use Versalis process and the contract is worth around USD150 million.
