AlwaysFree: ELIX Polymers, Repsol Agree To Partner On Circular Economy

Author: SSESSMENTS

ELIX Polymers and Repsol have signed an agreement to develop a circular economy for plastic, including a contract for regular supplies of ISCC PLUS-certified recycled styrene starting from next year. Repsol has obtained the certification for its recycled styrene production that allows customers to trace the waste used in the recycled materials' manufacturing.

With the certified recycled styrene, ELIX can produce high-end sustainable solutions for its customers that can meet strict cleanliness and safety standards. These solutions will be suitable for various applications such as toys, household appliances, automotive parts, and medical equipment.

The agreement also includes a possibility to set up a joint project in the scope of a circular economy. Both ELIX and Repsol are members of the Styrenics Circular Solutions platform, aiming to increase styrene circularity. ELIX is also a member of other industry initiatives, including the European PLAST2BCLEANED.
