On Friday, ENGIE and Masdar announced their strategic alliance agreement for the UAE’s green hydrogen hub.
Masdar, a renewable energy arm of ADNOC, will work together with ENGIE to develop projects with a capacity of at least 2 GW by 2030.
The total investment in the country will hit USD5 billion and their cooperation will benefit from ENGIE’s expertise in green hydrogen deployment to establish an early mover position in the UAE’s hydrogen market.
The companies will target local supply initially before expanding it to a sizable hydrogen hub for the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) with the potential to export to other markets.
