AlwaysFree: Exxon Restarting Large CDU, Coker on Beaumont Refinery

According to sources familiar with plant operations, ExxonMobil Corp. has been gradually restarting the 369,024 bpd refinery in Beaumont, Texas. On last Wednesday, it had restarted the large crude distillation unit (CDU) and coker.

Previously on August 25, the entire refinery was closed due to the threat from Hurricane Laura. 

Last Tuesday, the refinery began restarting the 240,000 bpd Crude B CDU and 45,000 bpd coker. Last Monday, the 110,000 bpd Crude A CDU was restarted. The refinery is also restarting the 120,000 bpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracker (FCC), 80,000 bpd reformer, the 65,000 bpd hydrocracker, 75,000 bpd reformer, and 40,000 bpd hydrotreater.

The whole refinery was planned to restart by last Friday.
