AlwaysFree: Feedgas Deliveries To Major US LNG Plants Hit New Record High

Author: SSESSMENTS

Feedgas deliveries to all six major US LNG plants reached a new record high of approximately 10.6 Bcfd on November 9, an industry survey showed. US LNG plants were running at near capacity as prices for deliveries to Northeast Asia remained strong. The benchmark Japan-Korea Marker (JKM) prices for December was observed at $6.850/MMBtu on November 9. Although it was lower than the recent high of above $7/MMBtu, it remained well above the historic low of $1.825/MMBtu on April 28 during the worst pandemic impact on the LNG market.

Freeport LNG on November 9 said it had restarted its first liquefaction train after being shut for three weeks due to a compressor trip and subsequent fire on October 21. Previously, a small fire occurred at the train 1 at Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG facility on October 11. In May, a fire also occurred at compressor of Unit 2 at Kinder Morgan’s Elba LNG plant. The Unit 2 remained offline as of November 9. Elba has ten liquefaction trains with a combined capacity of 2.5 million tons/year.
