According to the company’s website news release on April 17, 2023, Fortum restates its quarterly 2022 comparison segment reporting figures in accordance with the new organisation structure. On 3 March 2023, Fortum announced its new strategy, business structure, and new leadership team effective as of 31 March 2023. The new organisation consists of the following business units: Corporate Customers and Markets, Nuclear Generation, Hydro Generation, Renewables and Decarbonisation, Consumer Solutions and Circular Solutions.
Accordingly, Fortum revised its financial segment reporting to match the new business structure and strategy. As of the first quarter of 2023, Fortum reports its financial performance in the following reporting segments:
- The Generation segment includes the Corporate Customers and Markets, Nuclear Generation, Hydro Generation, and Renewables and Decarbonisation business units.
- The Consumer Solutions segment includes the Consumer Solutions business unit.
- The Other Operations segment includes the Circular Solutions business unit, innovation and venturing activities, enabling functions and corporate management.
- The Russia segment continues to be reported as a separate segment for the time being.
Following the signing of agreement in principle with the German Government to divest Uniper, Uniper was deconsolidated and reclassified as discontinued operations in the third quarter of 2022. The transaction was completed in December 2022.
