To submit final commercial bids for the proposed Lake Charles LNG liquefaction project being developed in southwestern Louisiana, a comprehensive commercial tender package has been issued by Shell and Energy Transfer to engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractors.
With 16.45 million tonnes per annum of liquefaction capacity, Energy Transfer’s existing import and regasification terminal will be converted into an LNG export facility.
Focusing on contractors’ verification of the engineering and design of the project, a technical invitation to tender (ITT) issued by the Lake Charles LNG partners in May.
The EPC contractors are invited to develop a comprehensive commercial bid for the lump-sum turnkey contract. A fully developed execution plan and completion schedule are required for contractors.
Energy Transfer expects to receive commercial bids during Q2 2020. The Lake Charles LNG project has secured necessary approvals from the US Department of Energy and the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC).
