Data from the General Administration of Customs showed China's gasoline exports surged nearly a third in 2019. Exports of gasoline from China was up 27 percent from 2018, jumped to 16.37 million tonnes in 2019.
Up 36 percent from December a year earlier, exports reached 1.73 million tonnes in December 2019.
Last year, new capacity per annual of 28.5 million tonnes added. The increase in China’s fuel exports follows rapid growth of refining capacity in the country. China's refinery runs pushed to a record 13.04 million bpd due to the additional capacity.
Domestic demand for gasoline and diesel is expected to remain under pressure in 2020. China is expected to add new refining capacity of 27 million tonnes.
