General Electric Co. and Vietnam’s EVNGenco3 Last week signed an MoU to develop an LNG power plant near Ho Chi Minh City in Ba Ria-Vung Province. According to the MoU, GE will supply its gas turbine technology as well as other equipment and services worth more than $1 billion over the lifetime of the project. The Long Son LNG facility will be able to generate 3,600-4,500 of power, GE said. Other companies which will be involved in the project include Vietnam’s Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company 2 and TTC Group, and a local subsidiary of Mitsubishi’s Corp.
