AlwaysFree: Heide Refinery Postponed Scheduled June Maintenance To Late Summer

Author: SSESSMENTS

Klesch Petroleum, German-based refiner owned and operates Heide refinery near Hamburg, announced to postpone scheduled turnaround work until the end of summer by reason of prolonged Coronavirus pandemic. Raffinerie Heide has the production capacity of 90,000 bpd and a jet fuel key supplier to Hamburg airport. Before Coronavirus pandemic, this refinery was planned to undergo maintenance shutdown in June.

The company spokesperson informed that the refinery had optimized production at the end of April as a response to lower-demand during the outbreak. “We are able to reoptimize our operations in order to divert products and feedstocks away from low-demand products and channel them toward the production of other, less impacted products,” said company spokesperson to market sources. Raffinerie Heide also has diverted gasoline-blending ethanol as standalone products to be used as cleaning and hygiene products which are in high demand.
