Hitachi ABB Power Grids (ABB Power Products and Systems India Ltd.) has won a contract to provide power infrastructure at HPCL Rajasthan Refinery’s proposed 181,000-bpd complex under construction in the Barmer District, Rajasthan. Under the deal which is estimated to reach INR1 billion ($13.7 million), ABB Power Products and Systems India Ltd will supply the complex with a 220/66-kV substation.
Hitachi ABB Power Grids will equip the substation with advanced automation systems and gas-insulated switchgear that will allow reliable and smooth power delivery from the state grid to the facility as well as protect the facility’s power grid. Hitachi ABB Power Grids will also deploy power transformers to improve the safety and efficiency of the complex’s power infrastructure.
