India’s Commerce and Industry Ministry has launched an anti-dumping investigation on imports of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) from the US, Singapore, Thailand, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. The probe is based on a petition submitted by the Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturers Association claiming injury to the domestic industry. The subject product under investigation is LDPE, excluding compounded LDPE and LDPE with a density greater than 0.925 GM/cubic CM. It covers a period of April 1, 2019, to June 30, 2020, with the injury investigation period of April 1, 2016 – March 31, 2017; April 1, 2017 – March 31, 2018; April 1, 2018 – March 31, 2019.
