AlwaysFree: Iran’s NPC To Start Up Ibn Sina Petrochemical Plant

Author: SSESSMENTS

Iran’s National Petrochemical Company (NPC) is set to launch the Ibn Sina Petrochemical Plant. The plant will supply maleic anhydride, isobutane, and normal butane in the region. The project is part of Iran’s second leap in the petrochemical industry aimed to increase the country’s petrochemical production capacity to 100 million tons/year by 2021 or early 2022.

The Ibn Sina Petrochemical Plant is also the first project in the butane value chain that will be operational under the current plan. It will take 71,000 tons of butane produced by the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant. Iran has successful experiences of using butane as feedstock at its Amirkabir Petrochemical Plant.
