Iran’s Deputy Minister of Petroleum for Petrochemical Affairs Behzad Mohammadi revealed the country’s plan to convert its 5 million tons of surplus methanol to propylene.
The technology to turn propylene from methanol has been localized by the Petrochemical Research and Technology Company (PRTC).
Mohammadi said that Iran is facing a shortage of propylene production and the PRTC’s achievement is important to the country.
