Factories and building sites will be allowed to reopen from May 4, Italy’s Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte said. Limited family visits also will be permitted as the country prepares a staged end to the longest coronavirus lockdown in Europe.
Some wholesalers, manufacturers, and construction companies will be allowed to reopen from May 4. Two weeks later, retailers will reopen. Although takeaway business will be possible earlier, restaurants and bars from the beginning of June will be allowed to reopen fully.
However, the government still suspend movement between regions. A declaration explaining the reasons for journeys have to be carried when people moving about.
From May 18, libraries and museums will be accessible. Before any decision on resuming the top-flight Serie A soccer championship, conditions would have to be assessed. However, sports teams will be able to resume group training. Until the beginning of the new academic year in September, schools will remain closed.
