JG Summit Petrochemicals Group (JGSPG) has set up a new unit that will operate in the Philippines' fuel sector. The new subsidiary, called Peak Fuel, completed its first sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) to a customer based in Southern Luzon in August. Peak Fuel imports refrigerated LPG through large gas carriers received by a jetty facility in JGSPG Complex in Batangas City. The LPG is then stored in two refrigerated tanks with a total capacity of 32,000 tons. The new company aims to become the preferred LPG supplier in the Philippines while making LPG readily available and more affordable to domestic buyers.
