According to the company’s website news release on December 9, 2022, on the occasion of QUAD (Japan-Australia-India-the U.S.) leaders’ meeting in Tokyo in May 2022, Quad leaders agreed to launch the Quad Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation Package (Q-CHAMPnote) as a measure to further advance practical cooperation in addressing climate change. Under this framework, the Workshop was held aiming to discuss the necessary initiatives and collaboration among Quad members and find solutions for the challenges on the ammonia value chain through sharing the strategies and trends related to ammonia of member countries and specific challenges and visions from industry.
The Workshop attracted interest and received about 500 online registrations from QUAD countries. 18 presentations were made by government officials, companies, and industry associations from member countries, and through 3 panel discussions, valuable opinions were exchanged to promote international collaboration between ammonia producing and consuming countries and the building of the ammonia value chain.
JOGMEC will continue to contribute to achieving a carbon-neutrality by supporting projects of decarbonized fuels such as ammonia and hydrogen.
