Northern Petrochemical Corp. has chosen KBR and Johnson Matthey’s ammonia-methanol co-production technology for its new facility in Alberta, Canada.
Under the contract, KBR will provide the license and basic engineering design for the technology.
Northern Petrochemical’s new project will produce blue ammonia and methanol using state-of-the-art carbon capture and storage technologies to achieve a carbon-neutral process.
The ammonia-methanol co-production technology will enable the new facility to minimize costs and risk by utilizing reliable and well-proven sustainable processes while reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
