Kinder Morgan Inc. is looking for permission to operate the seventh liquefaction train at its Elba Island liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Georgia.
According to a filing to the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) on Monday, Kinder Morgan’s Train 8 liquefaction train would be ready to operate on July 13. Meanwhile, Unit 7 was still in commissioning stages.
Elba is a joint venture between Kinder Morgan and EIG Global Energy Partners. It is set to liquefy 2.5 MTPA of LNG or 0.35 bcfd of natural gas. Royal Dutch Shell Plc has a contract of two decades to use the facility.
