Kinder Morgan Inc. has gained permission from the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to start the construction of its proposed Acadiana natural gas pipeline project in Louisiana.
The project is estimated to cost USD143 million and according to the federal government, it would come online around the second quarter of 2022.
It will have a gas capacity of about 0.95 bcfd and most of the gas will go to Cheniere Energy Inc's Sabine Pass liquefied natural gas (LNG) export plant in Louisiana, while the remainder will be available for sale to the market.
