AlwaysFree: Krasnoyarsk Territory, Gazprom Nedra Sign Agreement To Develop Gas Fields, Build LNG Plant

According to Interfax article published on March 2, 2023, the government of Krasnoyarsk Territory and Gazprom Nedra LLC signed an agreement to cooperate on expanding the use of natural gas in the region at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum (KEF) on Thursday, the regional government's press service reported.

"The territory's government supports Gazprom Nedra's initiative to implement a project in the territory to develop a number of licensed fields in the northern part of the region and build a plant to produce liquefied natural gas. We are at the very beginning of the road, but the economic effect from the implementation of this project is already clear," the deputy chairman of the regional government, Sergei Vereschagin was quoted as saying in the press release.

The parties also agreed to cooperate on science and technologies aimed at increasing the efficiency of resource use and development of the Arctic, the press service said. They also plan to share information about innovative projects that are being developed and implemented under government programs.

"We hope that this document will lay a firm foundation for further cooperation and will promote the development of the region's industry and expand the use of an environmentally clean type of fuel," Gazprom Nedra CEO Vsevolod Cherepanov was quoted as saying.

Gazprom Nedra is a subsidiary of Russian gas giant Gazprom that is one of Russia's largest oil and gas field service companies. The company conducts a full range of exploration work in Russia and provides geophysical and geotechnical services.
