Sadiq Al-Kabir, the Governor of Libyan Central Bank, called for an immediate resumption of oil operations and raising production to 1.7 million bpd. He said Libya needs to increase oil exports to generate revenue to cover spending amid an unprecedented decline in monetary reserves. According to him, repeated shutdown in Libya’s oil operations between 2013 and 2020 has incurred about $180 billion in losses.
