PJSC Lukoil has granted Lummus Technology LLC’s Lummus Novolen Technology GMBH a technology contract for a petrochemical unit on its subsidiary Lukoil Neftochim Burgas AD’s refinery in Bulgaria.
Lummus will provide technology licensing of its proprietary Novolen gas-phase polypropylene (PP) technology for the new 280,000 tpa polypropylene (PP) unit at Lukoil’s 139,000 bpd integrated refining and petrochemical complex on the Balkan peninsula.
Lummus will also deliver basic design engineering, training and services, and catalyst supply for the project. The PP unit will utilize PP feedstock produced by the refineries’ existing catalytic cracking units.
