On Thursday, NOVA Chemicals Corp. and Revolution announced that NOVA Chemicals will sell Revolution’s recycled low/linear low-density polyethylene (r(L)LDPE).
NOVA Chemicals will start to provide the resins in January 2021, enriches its market in post-consumer resin (PCR). The resins provided will have different melt indexes and densities to help bridge the gap. The resins will fit for utilization in flexible packaging applications such as heavy-duty sack, shrink and stretch wrap, agricultural film, poly mailers, and pouches, along with a range of molded goods.
Aside from recycled resins, NOVA Chemicals also offers technical support to help customers incorporate PCR into applications while fulfilling rigorous performance requirements.
The New Plastics Economy Global Commitments 2019 Progress Report estimated that by 2025, demand for PCR will increase fivefold from the 2018 baseline as brands strive for ambitious goals for recycled content in packaging.
