According to the company’s website news release on October 6, 2022, the Gazprom Management Committee reviewed issues pertaining to the development of the domestic gas market.
Information about the ongoing work on additional gas infrastructure expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation was noted. It was highlighted that, to this date, as many as 610,000 contracts for bringing pipeline gas to the boundaries of households on a free-of-charge basis have been signed with the general population. Over a half of these contracts – 51 per cent – have already been performed by the Single operator of gas infrastructure expansion (SO, Gazprom Gazifikatsiya) and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators.
The work on additional gas grid expansion is going at a fast pace in the areas falling under the responsibility of Gazprom Gazifikatsiya. In September, the gas distribution entities (GDEs) of Gazprom fulfilled 51,400 contracts, i.e. 51 per cent more than in August.
The SO ensures timely funding to cover the economically justified expenditures of GDEs, including independent ones, and regional gas infrastructure expansion operators.
An important role in achieving the additional gas grid expansion objective set by the Russian President belongs to the support measures that are offered to citizens with regard to the works to be performed within the boundaries of their land plots and the purchase of in-house gas equipment. Currently, the support measures are provided in 73 constituent entities of Russia.
Gazprom jointly with regional authorities elaborates new initiatives in relation to regional measures of support and the expansion of the list of categories of citizens entitled to such support. Among the noteworthy initiatives is the practice of providing subsidies to pensioners in the Perm Territory, the Leningrad Region, and the Sakhalin Region.
The relevant units of Gazprom and its subsidiaries were tasked with continuing the work on additional gas grid expansion in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The Gazprom Management Committee reviewed the forecast for domestic gas market development. It was noted that the domestic gas market is a top priority for Gazprom. The Company consistently develops the national gas supply infrastructure and brings gas to more localities, primarily those based in rural areas. The network of filling stations for motor vehicles running on natural gas – the most cost-efficient and eco-friendly fuel – is expanding. The projects for the production of liquefied natural gas and development of gas processing facilities are underway. Gazprom will continue its extensive work in this direction.
The meeting also approved the 2023–2027 Comprehensive Program for the reconstruction and re-equipment of Gazprom's gas transmission facilities.
Background
The SO is the single responsibility center for gas infrastructure expansion and provision of free connections to gas distribution networks in 72 constituent entities of the Russian Federation and the Sirius federal territory.
