Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), the European arm of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), is over 90% complete and will start delivering Azerbaijani gas to Europe by October next year.
Vugar Veysalov, the head of external affairs of TAP said that 99% of the project was completed in Greece, Albania, the Adriatic Sea, and Italy, the main route of the pipeline.
The project costs EUR4.5 billion (USD5.1 billion).
Upon completion, TAP will carry 10 bcm of gas from the Trans Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline Project (TANAP) to the markets in Europe.
Previously, the connection of TANAP to TAP was held on November 30.
