On Thursday, Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the country’s coronavirus lockdown would be revoked starting Saturday despite the coronavirus curve is edging up there.
He argued that poor and laborer Pakistanis could no longer afford to live under the lockdown. "We know that we're doing it at a time when our curve is going up, but it is not edging up as we were expecting,” he said.
Pakistan has experienced a five-week lockdown. As of Thursday, the country broke its record of a single-day increase of 1,523 cases to 24,073 cases. 564 people were reported to be dead by the virus.
